Mick began his working life as a construction worker before going to University at age 34 where he studied Industrial Relations’ at the Queensland University of Technology and graduated in 1994 aged 39.
Mick began his management career with Thiess Pty Ltd as Safety and Health Manager before progressing to Human Resource Manager QLD/NT/Pacific. Mick advanced to National Employee Relations Manager with Downer Mining and began his international career with Vale as General Manager Employee Relations – Oceania, Asia, Middle East and Canada 2008. Mick is currently Director of Safety and Health on the Cross River Rail Project.
Mick has 30 years’ experience in Human Resources and related roles in Mining and Construction. He has extensive experience and proven success in the fields of Human Resources, Leadership Coaching, Safety and Health.
Mick has the ability of being able to bring people together to achieve business goals across numerous cultures and can prove success at both the executive and project levels for operations in Australia, Canada, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Oman and Malaysia.
Mick grew up in Mt Pritchard, Sydney, NSW. Rugby League was more than a game it was an institution. A passionate rugby league fan Mick jumped at the chance to join the Brisbane Bombers team in 2018.
His interests away from work is his family first, rugby league, reading, travelling and horse racing.
